Roberto Philipp Location: Toronto, Canada
Roberto began studying music at an early age both in Canada and Italy. The genres of classical, flamenco,blues and jazz inspired Roberto to begin writing his own music. By the early 90's, Roberto had signed his second record deal. It was this deal with Hi-Rise Music/Sony that had Roberto working with producers such as Peter J. Moore (Cowboy Junkies, Holly Cole), Paul Milner(Keith Richards), Ingo Schleicher-atanassoff(Exciting Cafe, Soulflasher) and Jim Zolis(Celine Dion). Roberto released four albums. Desperate Ways(1995), Blood(1996), From The Keller(1998) and Octiv Maximus(2000). During these years, Roberto extensively toured Canada, The eastern United States and Europe. Roberto then turned his focus to producing other artists. He has produced three albums for reggae artist Mikey Power(Umana Music/Universal Music), Mercyless, Let It Sing and These Are The Days. He has produced countless singles for various artists and is currently producing the debut album for Linda Raine entitled, Rise. Roberto has also composed music for the films, Hard Core Logo(Canada), Helena(Romania) and Obscure Alternatives(Hungary). 2008 will see the release of Roberto new album, Into The Wind. LENNY and ANIMALS are the first offerings. Roberto once again is planning to tour North America, Europe and for the first time, Asia in support of his new material.
