Infidels Forever Location: Oslo/Follo, Norway
Infidels Forever, hailing from the suburban outskirts of Oslo, Norway, is definitely a name to remember. Their powerful debut album Like A Thief In The Night is a strong testimony of how modern indie rock should sound in 2006 - the year of the dog. Energetic, catchy, and highly addictive. Even though this is their debut, the band members have been contributing to the Norwegian indie scene with several projects for over a decade already; with their various musical constellations they have released several albums and been on the same bill as ...Trail Of Dead, Mogwai, Karate, Sebadoh, The Soundtrack Of Our Lives, Bobby Conn, Stereolab, and Public Enemy (!) amongst others.
If you find their recorded work intense, their live shows will strike you as even more convincing. Infidels Forever toured the US west coast with the Long Beach trio Campground this summer, their first shows ever on American soil. An European tour is also in the works. You don't want to miss that!
"Musically aggressive, the guitars crunch, the vocals pushed past their limit making for a combination of true heart and conviction. Infidels Forever plays music as if their lives depended on it. These Norwegians are in touch with their emotions but you wouldn't call it emo. It's got a rough edged, hardcore heart wrapped in a fragile shell. How's that? Great production and steady tempos make this disc all the more exciting. These guys being around for a long time if they keep this up!" - Independents Only
"The King Crimson Of Indie Rock!" - Chris Poland (OHM/ex. Megadeth)
"Open Channel EP contains five tracks of the most promising indie rock weve heard in Norway in a long time. During twenty minutes you are pulled into a vortex of melodies with such a presence and power that it can hardly be described with words.." - Mute Magazine |
