LoNero
 Location: San Jose, Ca

LoNero are the originators of the Instrumental Guitarcore genre. Not content with previous styles of instrumental rock which focused on self-indulgent solo-fests, LoNero's songs are more vocal oriented even though they have no vocalist in the true sense of the word (i.e. overblown egocentric lead singers). Lead by Bill Lonero, this guitar virtuoso combines the fiery elements of such notable guitar legends as Joe Satriani and Eric Johnson with the soul and passion of Angus Young; he caresses and assaults each note and melody as if his life depended on it. Next is Mike McKaigg on bass, who is a musician’s musician. His influences range from Iron Maiden, Journey, Styx, and has had the distinct opportunity of studying with Bay Area jazz musicians Frank Sumares and Cindy Browne. On rhythm guitar is the newest member of the band, William Baglivio. William takes a long and sorted background of metal, industrial, and electronica and brings some more thunder to the LoNero storm in the form of seven string guitars. He is a team player that wants only one thing....world domination. Oh and he also wants to kick major ass onstage!!! On drums is Steve Spicer, a pure pro and incredible drummer. With his roots based in jazz and rock he has no problem playing any style fluidly. Show-boating is not his thing unlike a lot of so called "drummers" out there. Steve knows that the drummer is responsible for holding the groove plain and simple!

Relentless, LoNero’s newest CD, is a major departure from Slather, which was Bill Lonero’s last effort. The difference between Relentless and Slather is that it was more of total band participation. On Slather, I basically recorded all the music with Stu Hamm on bass and Gigi on drums. On Relentless, we definitely rocked out more. I chose to record one acoustic song on this CD versus four on the last one. I wanted this CD to have a more relentless feeling with more drive and groove in the songs. Not to say that Slather didn’t have its fair share of groove and drive. Relentless feels like a natural progression to me and while we want our CDs to compliment one another, they need to stand apart as well.

LoNero will release a lead track to officially launch Relentless which will come out March 6th, 2007. Currently, the band plans an extensive tour and with endorsements/sponsorships from products such as Peavey, Hot Picks, Seymour Duncan, Dunlop, Rebel Straps and Lava Cables the band plans on "playing 'til we drop" says Bill Lonero. "I’ve had the privilege of playing or recording with the likes of Stu Hamm (Joe Satriani), Gigi Gonaway (Mariah Carey), Mike Mangini (Extreme and Steve Vai) and Polo Jones (Zucchero and Whitney Houston) so I understand what hard work is and am prepared to do what it takes to build our fan base. We love the road because we can connect with our fans."
