I am an independent artist coming from a mixed generation. I am not a boomer and not really an Xer. But styles of music are really not issues for me. I try to have a bigger picture of the music world and am always trying to expand my knowledge and thus write in as many genres as I can. I do not force this process I just write and record as it comes.


What really got me started with studio work (building and designing my own) was the instability inherent with bands. I simply got tired of waiting for the drummer to show up for practice etc. So I built my own recording studio in a separate building outside of my house and because I can play just about any instrument it allowed me a lot of creative freedom with a lot less hassle. This is not a low budge, garage project; my studio is designed with the latest in acoustical design elements.


I currently write, play all of the instruments, record, produce, mix, and master my own music. The process is one I enjoy and is much like any type of artistic expression; I feel it is just not complete until it is listened to by others. I am currently getting airplay from radio stations in many states across the country and in some areas of Europe. I have played music (lead singer and guitar) for over 20 years and have toured nation wide with many different artists. I have also worked as a studio musician for over 15 years professionally.


What I do now is write, arrange and produce music for my own portfolio, and as a service for others in need of that expertise. My music has been used in T.V. and radio ads on a national level as well as locally. I also love to write and perform Contemporary Christian music. I play at my local church which seats about 2500, and most Sundays it is full.


I also have a band called the Joe Roy Project and it is made up of pro musicians of the highest caliber. The problem these days is time. I would love to just do music and would do so if a real career developed. I have the ability in my life now to dedicate to a real career in music i.e. travel/tour, but I need the support of an agent and or label to really get that going.
