Scott Perkins Location: Houghton, Michigan
I've played guitar for over 40 years and traveled most of the US by land and on my sailboat playing different gigs in a variety of venues from rock-n-roll bars to upscale supper clubs and Tiki huts on the beach. I took a break from performing and recording for several years to open an electronics business and raise a family, getting back into music in 2003. I released my first CD, "Tiller Dreams," a collection of original sailing songs in 2005. My new CD, "Palm Trees In Da Keweenaw," is a collection of original blues tunes, released in 2008, this is where my true roots lie. My lead guitar work always draws a lot of attention and in recent years I have also enjoyed developing my skills as a lead vocalist. Because I am so versatile and have adapted my style to many different genres, I am somewhat of a chameleon when it comes to audience perceptions. I have been compared to everyone from Tom Petty to Jimmy Buffet. I always get a kick out of compliments, but I don't consider myself "like" any other performer. I am definitely one of a kind. |
