Biff Steel started back in Dallas way back in 1983, at the time a 5 Piece and before Steve Hudgins had joined the band, firing the orginal drummer and Rhythm Guitarist Tom Blackney leave the band it was decided to stay a 3 piece. Not having a real singer the band tried out a few singers all with funny results at best,(one guy never sang but posed, another one smashed our only mic stand screaming the lyrics and yelling about Ronald Regan)all along not knowing the powerfull vocals that sat behind the drums.

The band practiced alot and got very tight and very heavy with the speedy licks of guitarist Pete Hoyt and Robert Ewing's Bass Playing and power drumming from Steve Hudgins, the band got to the point of gigging in 1984 when Guitarist Pete left the band and moved away from Dallas thus ending the band having any live shows.......Steve & Robert continued on but bought 4 track cassette recorders and starting laying tracks and writting new songs with Robert taking over the Guitars & Steve the Vocals.

Moving ahead many years all 3 members lived in different cities but kept in touch, Steve & Robert moved up to the digital recording era and finished the first Biff Steel Cd "Agave Loco" and released it through MP3.com and sold many around the world much to our suprise.

In April of 2001 all 3 members met up at Robert's house in Houston and recorded a few songs for the first time in years and found we hadn't lost anything and only got better at our instruments(or at least we think so)and talked about maybe doing a live show for fun, this date was set for sometime in September 2001, of course we all know what happened 9/11/01 and our first gig was to be at a outdoor show in New Mexico, it was moved back a week and named the "Freedom Fest" near Albuquerque New Mexico and we played to about 200 people and only our own songs, it well very well and we decided to do this every summer...........We did two more shows that grew larger in size to the point that the State Of New Mexico banned any live music in their parks(these concerts were at Deadman Park Tijeras New Mexico), so the "Biff Steel" rule is now in effect for all parks.(sorry other bands)

One thing of note is Biff Steel played live at Fat Ted's in Dallas Texas for the Songplanet Live Broadcast opening the show for The Moondogs. Sunday Drive and another band I can't remember, this was the first time we'd ever played in our home city.

In 2008 we have another CD's worth of songs coming out, between 10-14 songs should be released by October and hope to maybe work in another gig at sometime. The songs on this page were recorded from 2002-04 and one our "Denyalator" CD that can be purchase through CD or by the song on I Tunes and other on line outlets.(Including this very page)
